I use Safari, because unlike firefox, it doesn't consume all the system resources like a ravenous elephant eating peanuts.

Of course, my system is close to 7 years old now, but man. Safari has a thankful amount of speed.
 
Safari is my default browser, but on iMac Intel (home) there is a couple of important (Bank account and my mobile-phone provider) web sites that are not correctly working with it. The same sites are working great with Safari on PowerPc G5 Dual (office).
So Firefox is the right resource for any problem (and it never fails...)
 
That's because IE for Mac officially was discontinued in June of 2003 after being allowed to deteriorate to such a low point that it was the butt of many jokes.

That seems odd that the sites would work on the G5, but not Intel. Are you using the same version of OS X/Safri at home, and work?
