You guys would do well not to argue about this really. It's the holiday season. Just be glad we have games and a variety of places to get them however we like.

Personally, I like Steam for the client features and socializing with friends I have there between games, etc. I like the seasonal sales too but of course other stores have sales as well.

That said, I do like the App Store too. Sometimes it is kinda nice to just click and play without waiting for anything else to start. Plus sometimes the App Store has cool games I can't get on Steam that I want. It does a very nice job of installing them, updating them, etc. I'm happy with the App Store when I use it.

I've had good experience with Origin also. They carry some Feral titles along with The Sims 3 of course and some other stuff I think. The client is simpler than Steam but it works well with no problems in my experience. They had a very good sale at one point on a bunch of Feral's LEGO releases and I picked those up there. I got Dragon Age II there also.

I used Amazon.com to get Dragon Age Origins Ultimate for Mac. Their downloader worked just fine and it installed without a hitch. I don't usually go there but I would if they had something I couldn't get elsewhere.

GOG.com is awesome for classic PC games setup for Mac with Boxer or Wine as well as DRM-free indies for Mac at times. They are a good store too. I've been a customer of theirs for years now and never a problem with them.

And of course, I shop at the Blizzard store for WoW expansions, SC II and Diablo III, etc.

Those are enough logins for me to keep track of and serve my needs nicely. I don't see why there is an issue about any of this here really. Just shop wherever works for you and good enough. As far as developers and publishers concerns, they are big boys and girls and can take care of themselves I'm sure. It is good to be aware of how Steamplay works though in the interest of taking care of our own if you will.

I always purchase Steamplay titles with the Mac Steam client and I always play them on OS X. I wouldn't have it any other way anyway but this ensures the Mac developers get paid.

Basically if you use Windows too and want to support the Mac developers the above is the way to do so. On the other hand, if you want to play something in Windows for whatever reasons well that's up to you. Maybe a game isn't out for Mac yet or whatever but of course nobody needs to justify for people on a forum their own personal choices. Live and let live I say.

Happy New Year early all! :D

You're right, DirtyHarry. Besides, I'm not feeling lucky.

Forget I said anything Magnus. It really doesn't matter.

Happy New Year to both of you and everyone else.
