Why is macOS version update needed every year?
What changed between big sir and Monterey? From my point of view the yearly refresh is more than unneeded. An improvement yes, but a whole version change…

True, but new features do not always require a new OS release, i.e. a new name etc.

Apple doen't have the slightest respect for a stable macOS. Developer stats seem pretty clear.
