Hello, usually each generation has only one main issue but for the 2018 models, there are multiple. How come? Is it because Apple is trying to put to many things in a small chassis?

What are the issues with the 2018 MBP? Haven't seen any, aside from the power management bug story, and that was fixed very quickly.

But in the forum, everyday I see new posts about various issues.

The ones complaining have issues but the vast majority does not. Really for a new piece of hardware, things have been pretty well calm. This is why people come here to help solve issues.

You are seeing a very small "slice" of new MBPro owners here. Most have never even heard of McRumors.

Unfortunately on just about any new release of any new Apple hardware there will be a "Gate" story. Visit the forums around the times of those releases when people are migrating all new information to the new hardware they purchased, there will be questions and issues that come up. That is where the bulk of the "problem" posts will reside. Once the initial purchases on the new releases settle, and problems get solved, normal posting resumes.

You want to see the biggest example here? Watch the forums in September when the new iPhones release.

As someone who lives in a country with no Apple Stores and only Apple Authorized Service Centers, I am not getting the 2018 model before I see everything fixed. Dealing with an authorized service center is a huge pain in the ass, unless Apple has a replacement/repair program, they will always blame it on you.

A lot of times you can call Apple support, while on the phone you can grant remote access so they can walk you through fixing most issues without having the need to take it in. Shame you've had negative experiences with the authorized service centers, but I haven't experienced Apple blaming me for anything even when its my fault.

I am not sure if I would buy Apple products if I lived in a country that did not support it.

I do think there are multiple problems with the current first batch of these MacBooks. Why? Because multiple persons have indicated that they've exchanged theirs multiple times and each had the same or different problems. From a probability standpoint they're either very very unlucky, lying (I hope not) or there's a bigger number of laptops with problems.

I personally have the sound issue and starting today the coil whine issue. There's some other issues that I have but those probably will be helped with software updates (performance under Bootcamp).

I wouldn't say don't buy the laptop, but if you do, please test it thoroughly in the first 14 days and if you encounter any of the issues exchange/return it. I'm returning mine later this week and will likely buy one when these issues are helped. It's the first time I've bought a MacBook at launch so I wouldn't have an idea if this is abnormal, it's just not something I want/should have to deal with.

Because fire Tim Cook.... miss Steve.... Emoji.... Watch Bands.... Ports.... Headphone jack.... Not trully Pro.... Why not make it thicker.... blah blah.

Just a typical day at the forum :)

If I recall it right, OP already has at least one more thread running on similar lines intoning the issues with MBP 2018.

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/confused-about-the-state-of-mbp-2018.2130013/

Looking at his other threads, it seems he starts threads for very similar/ overlapping considerations. 13 vs 15, 2.2 vs 2.6, 2017 vs 2018, a lot. It's quite boggling.

Unfortunately that’s the case for authorized service centers. My friend had a 2013 MBP and his screen got a dead pixel just a few months after buying it (was within warranty) and they claimed it was his fault. How can this possibly be his fault! He called Apple US over Skype and they were able to contact Apple EMEA for him and force the authorized center to repair it free for him. They did it free as promised but it wasn’t easy for him convincing Apple US to do it.

The same issue happened again, he got a dead pixel and was still within warranty and he had to go through the entire process and they only fixed it for free when Apple assisted him again.

Last issue was this year (out of warranty) when all ports on the left side stopped working and the speaker started making cracking sounds. Of course Apple didn’t help this time and he ended up paying around $700 to get all fixed but at least this time he was out of warranty so yea understandable.

I am really looking forward to Mojave final beta builds/GM fixing all issues because I really need to upgrade from the 2011 MBP I have.

Again, what is it that you want to have fixed? Are there any repeating, systematic problems with these new models that you are wary of?

OP has had a bunch of threads like these for every MacBook Pro released in the last few years. Just do a thread by thread search. Its always the same. I expect him to keep it up at least until 2025.

If I listened entirely to Macrumors... my Macbook Pro TB 13' 2017 would be completely unusable. The keyboard would have died 40 times over already (apart from being completely unusable). Dust from the smallest living thing would have rendered every key unusable.

The amount of complaining and negativity here about Apple products is sickening and getting REALLY old.

Well ****. Wonderful. Another one.

I am worried of the speakers cracking and the Bridge OS KPs issue. I am hoping both are software issues though. Again, I know they are not widespread but if I get unlucky and get one it won’t be easy convincing an authorized reseller to replace it.

What are the multiple "issues"? The throttling has already been addressed and resolved through a simple software update.

Something tells me you're too deep into the anti-Apple internet clickbait industry (and this forum, which is a massive troll magnet filled with long time posters who haven't had a single positive thing to say about Apple in their thousands upon thousands of posts) if you actually think the new MBP is plagued with issues.

It's not. It's an absolutely excellent product, that will more than serve the needs of pretty much anyone who buys one for years to come.

Wasted too much time. Perhaps just get another brand and call it off. I will never like the butterfly keyboard.

Not under Bootcamp. Patch is for MacOS only. Bootcamp is part of the Mac features and one of the reasons some of us have been buying Apple products.
