Why do they do the pre-ordering at midnight? Or 3 am my time. Is there a reason for this?
Midnight is Apples local time (California) its just the start of the day, so when they give a date it would make most sense to start it at the start of that day
Kinda of like a Playstation game is playable at midnight on release day etc
Because people make bad decisions when they're sleep deprived.
One possible reason is it likely lessens the immense server load. Many people probably like to buy on launch day, but only insane people, like myself and others on this forum, stay up until midnight, 1, 2, or 3 in the morning just to order a phone.
You'd be surprised how many millions of people are just as insane lol. Thats why these things sell out so quickly
I will do that for the iPhone X.
Probably to keep traffic as low possible on their servers.
Isn’t it 12.01? First minute of the promised launch day.
I used to go to bed and set an alarm. Then I grew up a bit. Oh my gosh it's been 5 days and I didn't preorder yet!
Here pre-orders start at 11:01 AM.
Getting up early to pre-order is one thing, those who camp out in front of an Apple store three to four days early, is on a whole another level.
Doesn't really matter when they do it.. since it's a worldwide launch and everyone will have a different time. At this point they are likely just keeping it the same way it has always been.
Are you telling me there is NOT an APP to per-order ;-)
