Hello experts,
I know this is a very common issue and might be asked many many time but just wondering my macbook pro is that much slow even I just do browsing.

I have :-
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Late 2011)
2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
OS version - 10.12.6

I checked many post and tried all possible debugging but still no help. CPU usage never reach beyond 10%, because as I said I use this only for browsing purpose only.

Planning to increase RAM to 8 GV but still this 4GB look ok to me for my work. I sometime have issue in opening 2-3 tabs also

Kindly suggest what best I can do to fix this without spending some bugs

It’s not clear that your macbook pro is running slower than it should be, since you’ve given us little information about what you mean by “slow.”

Nonetheless, a 2011 macbook pro with only 4GB RAM is not going to run very fast, even with an old OS like 10.12.

I have this model. I don’t know what you do with it but for me 95% of the time is fine (I’m sure it’s slower but anything I do is tolerable).

I have upgrade to 16Gb and SSD. Id say SSD is probably most important. You are also doing 4gb of RAM. You might need to upgrade that as well. You really can’t expect to not spend money and get a fast computer by doing much more software change. It is now an almost 10 years old laptop after all.

Agreed. I had a 2012, and putting an SSD in was like night and day. That said, it will never be “fast” given the age of those machines. But an SSD does tend to eliminate random hangs and pauses, and can even make up for lack of enough RAM (since an SSD is much better than a spinning disk if you have to page out).

thanks all. I will try to find a new set of SSD and 8 GB of RAM in short while and will buy one..
Could you please recommend me the buy link which can fit to MacBook Pro (13-inch, Late 2011). Amazon link will help.
thanks again for your quick help.

This place is very reliable. Even if you don’t buy from there, you can get ideas for what’s available and compatible with your specific mac.

I have an even older MacBook Pro 17. I put more memory in it and a SSD and it made a huge difference and it is very usable for many things...just not 4k videos and 48MB pictures outputting 250 mB PSDs.
