I can edit pics on my IP4 with iOS 5 but not on my ipad? Why would apple make the ipad weaker in this department?

The iPod Touch also is missing those features. Its a beta so maybe they'll add it later, but most likely they will withhold the features until next gen when they put a better quality camera onboard.

So only people with a better quality camera need editing features? Really?

Possibly Because: It's a beta, and not all the features are included yet.

Probably Because: Apple intentionally cripples last-year's product in new software updates. It's ridiculous, inappropriate, and greedy. I understand not going 2 years back with all the features, but to leave off certain things like 4 finger gestures, WiFi sync, and Photo Editing (among many others) from the iPad 1 is just ******.

Don't know yet about 4 finger gestures and photo editing but WiFi Sync is working fine on the iPad 1 with iOS 5.
I also don't understand why the gestures are not available on the iPad 1 but hope this will be added back later.

gestures were a little slow on the iPad 1, so apple would have removed them on this basis.
