Hi All,

I'm a bit confused by this.

Q1) Why no "YouTube", or "Amazon Music" on M1 Mac App Store?

Q2) Also, why no work around?:

I thought the M1 Macs are supposed to be able to run iPhone / Ipad apps?

So if no native "YouTube", or "Amazon Music" on M1 Mac App Store, surely the iPhone / Ipad apps? should be available?

Hope you can advise
Regards
Martin

Developers can opt-out of having their iOS apps available for M1 Macs on the App Store. Probably what YouTube and Amazon did.

Related (I think): The Amazon Music app for macOS has one of the worst, un-intuitive, cluttered, and cumbersome GUIs ever, doesn't it?

Hi srb,

Did you install "Amazon Music" onto Big Sur?

How did you manage this? The steps advised by Chown33 above?

Is it running ok at least?

I have a paid for Amazon Prime account, so I may as well make use of the App if its free :)

I just tried to install an IPAD app onto the Macbook. The IOS IPAD version of "Amazon Music".

I got this weird "Amazon Music for artist" app - I just did my 1st uninstall of an app as well on a Mac today. :)

I’ve had the macOS app for awhile. It’s on the Amazon site.

Hi SRB,

Just tried the web site. No joy, can only run music from the web site.

I'm on a M1 Mac, so looks like the App is not available just yet for the M1 Big Sur.

That’s my understanding as well, why would they do that? A brother of mine just got a M1 Air and would rather have the standalone app than going through the browser (I kinda understand wanting fully separate experiences instead of funneling absolutely all through web browser windows).
Freaking workarounds just because... which might not be working anymore it is also my other understanding.
