From the St. Louis, MO Riverfront Times:

(And if you do eat it, you should probably call ahead and schedule your heart surgery for early next week...)

If you like bacon, you'll love this. Looks to be as healthy as the Atomic Buffalo Turd.

If you go to the site and check it out, it actually looks pretty good. I'd try one.

The jalapeno part of it really interests me, but I don't know about the cream cheese and cocktail weenie.

Maybe I'll just wrap jalepenos in bacon.

    ::mmm:: ::bacon::

I don't know what you call 'em, but the most frightening appetizer I've ever had was a cheese-stuffed, bacon wrapped, deep-fried cocktail weenie.

If you think that sounds nasty, imagine what they're like when they cool off.

    That sounds awful.

But speaking of all this bacon, I did forget to mention that while not nearly as oddly named, this article was a follow-up to The Bacon Explosion story that sounds much tastier (but even less healthy).

I haven't heard that expression since watching old Masterpiece Theatre stuff years ago! I pronounce you

Topic: That sounds not so bad. The photo included above looks awful. The cold cocktail weenie sounds just plain disgusting. I have a strong stomach, but my gag reflex gets tingling a bit when I read stuff like that..

i don't know about the weenie part either (that's just overdoing it in my book) but jalapenos/pepperoni filled with cream cheese .. defiantly a thumbs up with that
they taste absolutely delicious even cold with a little bit with olive oil or grilled without

and that's even without bacon .. gotta have to remember that one

edit: if we are at it: tomatoes with cream cheese grilled also taste great

Instead of the coctail sausage with cream cheese, perhaps it would taste better if you substituted it with a piece of real cheese inside the jalepeno, or perhaps some real cheese and a thin slice of carrot. Yes, carrot.

Of all foods from St. Louis, that's what you had to post about? Why not toasted ravioli or Imos Pizza? :D

Take a red or green pepper and wrap the inside with bacon. Cook it however one feels is best. Then take the winning spicy chili from the chili cook off competition and put that in the cooked bacon lined red/green pepper bowl and eat :D

    Also enjoy some Macrumors Bacon

    Yes WTF indeed. =)

Probably healthier than the real stuff.
Not my thing, but looks like some people really love bacon.
I guess see some "inventors" have too much time.

Ohh invest first and publish more bacon recipes!!!

^^^Well, bacon in North America is far different from bacon in places like Australia. Your bacon is far more fatty, and they usually come in strips. In Australia, you can eat the bacon without cooking it. It's essentially just ham, rather than the fattiest strip from the pig.

If only that was the real MR homepage....

true that .. in america bacon almost exclusively refers to bacon made from pork belly even though bacon can be made from other, leaner, parts as well

and believe me on a pizza the leaner bacons tastes just as awesome (even more so if it's really thin)
