In the US and Canada, you pay THE SAME monthly fee for your cell phone service, regardless of whether you bought your phone for "free" (subsidized) or paid full price for it.
There are no providers (that I am aware of, someone correct me if I am wrong) that will discount your monthly service fee if you bring your own phone or pay for it yourself.

Life's good when you can afford an unsubsidized phone every year. Myself, I usually don't have $700 sitting around every summer.
no my friend AT&T has allowed me to upgrade annually with no extra costs other than the 18 dollar upgrade fee...something about being a long time valued customer or something like that...I've never bought an unsubsidized iPhone except the original in 2007 which AT&T did not initially subsidize
