why quicktime player play some AVI format file got Video but NO Sound?

hi, im seeking some help on why my quicktime player, played some AVI format file got video image but NO SOUND? whereby i used on VLC player was ok so what the missing file/thing? pls help...thanks

Use Perian for tons of codecs, and it should fix your AVI issue. Flip4Mac works for WMV,

What you probably were missing is a required audio codec, like AC3.

Like psychofreak said, intall Perian and Flip4Mac, and QuickTime will play almost anything... with sound 😉

Yeah. People need to understand that .avi and .mov files are just "containers" for the video format. The codecs makes the difference 😎
