Why release Mac OS X so often?

Yeah remember that "underwhelming" Lion?

That was the operating system that delivered Core Storage which then delivered FileVault 2 whole disc encryption and what now delivers Fusion Drive in Mountain Lion.

We're seeing new capabilities because the OS is evolving at such a rapid pace. Is it bug free? No but nothing battle tests new hardware or software like actual live fire in the field.

Technology changes happen everyday and 2-3 years for new operating system is too much.
windows maybe dominates the market but people suffer everyday and a new features every year for low price can make some people move and even integrate it with their iDevices.

Apple create eco system from pc, media players, phones, tablets and hopefuly tv soon :>

Well, the frequent small changes that apple does seems preferable to the huge changes some software vendors do that can really confuse some folks.

Accelerate hardware upgrades. Push the requirements of new desirable features in the OS toward the newest hardware to entice owners to upgrade to the latest hardware in order to get the best of the latest OS.

So where is the QuickSync (video decoding & encoding) support in Mountain Lion? Just in FaceTime & AirPlay?

I think the end of this will be some free operating system that is universally accepted and that vendors make apps. for.

This system is the Android OS developed by the Open Handset Alliance. This OS runs on over 500 million devices worldwide.

Hopefully computing will be an evolution and not a devolution.

CMD+F in Finder gives you the search thing. It doesn't have the option to search by "file name" like in SL, only by "contents".

Use Find Any File. Problem solved.
