Why rotated photos

I've never been able to answer this slight irritation.
Why do my iPhone or iPad photos post to internet rotated when all I require is standard landscape or portrait.

Possibly limited to another forum.
No idea why as the same photo above posts at rotates format.

Take two photos in landscape, volume buttons up and buttons down, then upload both. Will the 'buttons down' photo get rotated?

Hi volume only controls volume no photo rotation.
I've re posted another Xs photo and it is again rotated like 45degrees
