why should i upgrade from 1.1.4 to 2.0?

i have found a source online where even without team dev's mac tool called pwnage 2.0, there is a way for people to manually upgrade through windows.

i was one of the iphone users whom accidentally upgraded to 2.0 when the leaked firmware was available on apple servers, then had to downgrade to 1.1.4 using kiremk's patched ziphone.

has anyone been able to follow the steps on the link provided above and actually successfully upgraded to 2.0?

will my 1.1.4 software like customize, wetool, bossprefs work with 2.0?

i wan't to know whether it is worth the hassle going to 2.0......any replies appreciated in advance.

what i am interested in is: being able to type SMSs in landscape mode. i guess they have search contacts in 2.0.....also i always have to use wetool to forward SMSs....why can't apple engineers just develop this into their system?!?!?

i live in india....does the app store work here? thanks!
