Why still no factory unlocked iPhone in the USA?

It would enable people to use local sims when they travel outside the country, instead of either not using their iPhones abroad or coming home to huge bills.

Even when your two-year contract with AT&T is finished, AT&T will not unlock your iPhone. It will be locked to AT&T forever.

I don't understand how they get away with that, it's just plain rude. Land of the free, my @ss!
