I think I have tried just about everything, Jettison, Sloth, Ejecta none of them work so far to eject my Time Machine EHD without requiring Force Eject which I have to do daily.
Obviously I'm concerned about doing this on a regular basis. I am aware about Spotlight Indexing (MDS processes) and this one below;
The above process does not show up in Activity Monitor. I know these processed can take time to quit but even after hours of apparent inactivity the volume would not eject even when Unmounted in Disk Utility.
Then suddenly today after weeks of trying I get this;
I can only hope this persists but I have my doubts. Is anyone else experiencing this, got any answers or reasons. I'd love to hear back.
PS. As feared it has returned to it's old behavior as per the first screenshot "........because one or more programs may be using it." so a temporary one off reprieve but, it does indicate the system can do it if the "one or more programs" cease. My problem is I want to move to the bedroom for a Zoom Meeting and I dont have however much time to wait.
I might add I have tried shutting down, removing the drive and starting up only to get the "not ejected properly" warning and signing out then back in does nothing to help.
