Why the Icon Change?

    Does anyone know why they replaced the calculator icon?

    Not sure of the origin of the change, however, they had to since the iPod Touch has the new icon.

    They may have just thought it looked more hip and decided to roll it out on the Touch first.

    All speculation.

    hmmm...maybe because the calculator icon actually looks like the calculator itself now? it was never brushed metal. what i really still want is a weather icon that shows something besides sunny and 73. otherwise its gonna be quite a warm winter...lol.

    btw the calc icon change was noted on september 5th when they put up the new pics of the iphone update on apple's website. the clock time was also different but they changed it back. the 23 degrees on the temperature sensor didn't make it over to the US, obviously, since 23c = 73f. weird that they used the european iphone for all the update pics.

    just be glad that safari and ipod don't crash anymore!!

    Yes, it would be pretty cool if it could show the actual temperature and weather for your chosen location!
