You folks are so quick to argue over stupid crap... Sheesh.

We just corrected you. Don't take it personally but in this discussion for example, it does matter how big the forum is. 50 000 is nowhere near what MR has so you can't compare them just like that.

All forums also have their own policies. I also go to a Finnish Mac forum where nearly EVERY post is edited by a mod. That's awful, thus I stay in MR :p

??? whatever......

People have a right to not be jumped on the first post they make. Then again, I have seen your posts...

Alright, I am done. This site is just crap. Keep it.

It's about time we got this over with. Part of the problem has just become part of the solution. :)

This is a privately run site/business. No one here has rights. I think MR has done a very good job of adhering to its defined rules though.

FTR, most of us enjoy being jumped by Randy.

I think that is all that needs to be said on that matter. I will close with the following point:

The point, is if they were actually moderating the site that I would not have had to even post a response like that because the original post would likely have never been made out of fear of being banned. (yes, you will get the occasional person that will break the rules for the sake of doing it.)
Members are held accountable for their own posts. If you see a post that violates the rules you have one of a few options:

  • Report the post and move on
  • Move on
  • Report the post and respond in a positive manner
  • Respond in a positive manner

Members aren't obliged to report posts but if they do not then they are helping the situation.

Blaming a lack of moderation on your choice to be abusive and break the rules doesn't really cut it.

All members are encouraged to report posts, each post report is dealt with and helps make the site a better place for all.
