One of the things I once touted as a Mac Users was that they did not use the stupid and asinine 'My' preceding the directories for Documents, Pictures, ect...

Well, now Apple has gone and done it; we have 'My Documents' in Pages .app. Does Apple think we are as simple as Windows users where we need to be told they are our documents? Is there a reason for this? I assume that since I own the iPad, they belong to me. I know, crazy assumption.

So we are really scraping the bottom of the barrel for thread topics now aren't we...

For aesthetics? For a laugh? Who cares?

The whole document management in the iWork apps for iPad is pretty bad, especially importing and exporting files. The name of the folder is the least of the problems.

Did you want iDocuments instead, or maybe mememememedocuments

The whole iPhone operating system inspires so many ways to end that sentence that your comment about the "My" in Pages is a bit ironic.

I thought the complaint was always that Windows was too complicated for the average person and that Apple just made everything simpler.

You can't have it both ways.

I felt the exact same way and I'm glad I'm not the only person who questioned it. It bothered me a little since "My Documents" seems so Microsoft. However, I assume if the button was just labelled "Documents" then some people might have difficulty identifying it as the button meant to lead them back to their documents. Like it or not "My Documents" is likely the most succinct label this button could have and I am sure Steve Jobs mulled this over before okaying it.

It just irked me that its presence harkened back to Windows XP. I'm waiting for Clippy to appear any minute.

Be glad Nintendo didn't design it or it would be WiiDocuments.
