I think it is the same size as the one with butterfly keyboard. Why it is so big? There is no issue of messing up the gestures/clicks by accidently while typing?

I've never had an issue with the huge trackpad on the touchbar macbooks that i've had. It has really nice palm rejection, so there's not really any issue with random clicks/gestures while typing.

That is really hugh compared with those on the Thinkpads

Before owning one of the newer models, I wondered why it grew so much from the 2015 design. I thought perhaps it would support pencil at some point. But it doesn’t seem so big once you use it and experience how the extra space makes the trackpad feel that much more natural. My palms have never activated a gesture. I still use the Magic Mouse a lot, but I think most people (including Windows users) would agree that MacBooks have the best trackpads on the market.

It's definitely the best on the market.

And its huge nowadays because of the tech in it. We now have a fake feedback, in 2015 machines it was a movable piece of hardware.

I love how big it is in 15" MBP. Its like a full size Magic TrackPad! lol
