So the iPhone 13 Pro Max still has a big notch and no fingerprint scanner.

Cool that they finally have 120hz displays, but it is still super outdated next to competitor flagship phones.

Basically the iPhone 13 Pro Max still only works with an Apple Watch unless you want to type in your password everytime you want to unlock your phone.

I am obviously not upgrading my iPhone 11 Pro Max —> iPhone 13 Pro Max as it is still lacking features which other flagship competitors have.

Its like people need reassurance to leave the ecosystem. If it doesn't work for you, then there are other options available. You don't need authorization from people on the Internet. Do what's best for you without the need to broadcast it on an Apple forum......

It's actually great that Apple is doing a bare minimum because people can spend their money somewhere else. I held onto my X for 4 years and it's still doing perfectly fine but I want 120Hz screen because most of my devices are >120Hz.

You don't need to upgrade every year or even two years, phones are built to last way longer than that.

How much more, realistically, can they do to smartphones? Yes eventually we’d all like the notch gone but come on. The days of true, groundbreaking innovation are long gone. The 12 and 12 Pro weren’t even that different to the 11 and 11 Pro.

I’m not upgrading because I really just got my 12 PM in April. The 13 is cool. I’m not even considering leaving iPhone because it works for me.

3 of the people I’m traveling with today on a flight have iPhone the 4th has Android. I iMessaged boarding passes for the 3 the 4th person on Android nope. It’s like dude get with the program. In fact the 9 of the 11 people in I’m working with today are on iPhone. The other 2 can’t get shared notes etc. it’s a PIA.

Is this a good time to get an iPhone12 Pro though?
Depends on the price and how much you value the better battery, camera's and 120hz screen.

Multiple people not sure if it’s not worth upgrading.

Multiple people thinking of leaving Apple due to the lack of innovation and meaningful upgrades.

“Nobody cares”
Every year the same threads and every year they're selling 200 million iPhones, so yes nobody cares.

These products are now so mature that we no longer get wizz-bang features on a yearly basis. The products are so powerful that we no longer have to upgrade every year. That and the cost of these phones mean that we are at the stage where we should treat these like laptops. Buy when we need, most likely once every 2-3 years. Even the iPhone Upgrade Programme makes little sense any more.

Every year. Every single year.
“Not enough to upgrade”
“The notch”
“No innovation”
“Not much better than my…”
“I’m done with Apple”
“My …. still works fine”
What else am I missing? I mean really, are you going to see a life changing, can’t live without feature with each iteration of iPhone? Nope, I don’t expect to either. It’s a piece of metal and glass, wtf more do you want out of it for crying out loud

Seriously, its like clock work. Its like people need to start threads for them to justify upgrading a phone.

…and no fingerprint scanner.
Your 11 Pro Max doesn't have a fingerprint scanner either. Why this thread for that if you own an 11PM?

Apple hasn't had a 'fingerprint scanner' since the iPhone 8. Why do you own an 11PM if this is a problem for you?
