So i was bored since footy transfer window hasn't yielded anything great and tv showings were crap, i decided to watch the MWSF 07 Keynote again (i know i'm sad) and noticed steve demoed split view in mail where you get a preview of each message without actually tapping into the msg.

However this never made it into any Firmware...anyone know why? it would've been a nifty/time saving feature instead of having to navigate to each msg to read it. Speaking of time saving, a unified inbox wouldn't hurt either

EDIT: I just continued watching and realised steve said "I can choose the split screen view...but i actually like the fullscreen view. Nuff said. What steve wants he gets, i would guess he ordered them to remove the option altogether

Eh, the default "2 lines" preview in each message is good enough for me. It doesn't seem to me that the iPhone screen is sufficiently large enough to make a split view email screen very handy.
