Hello

Garmin has 2 generations of this technology and it work very well to length the autonomy.

Why apple don’t use it one Apple Watch ?!

dunno, honestly wish they did that, i gladly sarcifice some screen brightness.
I am actually conteplating moving to a garmin watch as i cycle a lot and it would be the better eco system together with my HR monitor strap, bike computer etc.

Probably screen brightness and clarity. Apparently those garmins do look duller. Also they're alot fatter, so probably that + the fact Garmin watch batteries last loads longer as they sip power by comparison (last multiple days vs a single day). So at best it would probably add a hour or 2 charge which may not be deemed worth it for the worse screen.

I'd be surprised if there's not one somewhere in the depths of one of Apples basements.

If I'm not mistaken the garmin watch will send heart rate using ANT+ to whatever you like. Currently I've been looking at cycling computers, but if I log rides on there I'll lose my Apple Watch heart rate from Strava. 😢

Yeah same for me, i think my AW4 will be my last one, i dont foresee Apple will allow close intergration of their data with Garmin.

And honestly it`s ok, i progressed from a consumer level smart watch to one that is designed specifically for certain sports in mind.

I had a Garmin 6 X and bought a AW7 (after having had a AW3 a while back). I find the Garmin far superior and have since upgraded to 7X Solar. I find the exercise functionality much better and over 2 weeks of battery life is fantastic

I would rather the Apple Watch for notifications implementations et nice screen.

But Garmin still my second choice.

I've been using Garmin marine navigation since the early '90s. The best designed and engineered gear on the water. Charts, GPS, and sonar are flawless, the hardware near indestructible. If they ever go into phones I'll be one of the first to jump off the bloated Apple bandwagon.

Not on any model with amoled display. The transflective displays garmin uses on their solar models works better in the sun, while amoled uses lots of power to be readable in the sun. I have them all AW7, FR245, FR955 and Epix 2. Unlike what reviewer say, Epix is not as readable in the sun. It is inreadable to glance at, you must use gesture for it to increase brightness (not handy on a bike holding the handlebar). But I am impressed by the battery life of Epix, even with AOD.
