Why!? Why?! Why!?

Hello, I thought I knew a lot about iOS devices and syncing but apparently I need to do some homework! I would like to know why my daughters & wife's iPhone backups show in settings in iCloud on thier iPads? It seems as though the iPhone backup is taking up too much space on the iPads and won't allow me to update apps because there is not enough space. Please let me know if I am doing something wrong or need to change some settings. If more info is needed please let me know, thanks.

Did it actually say no space because of backups? And device backups of my two iPads and iPhone show up on my iPad. You can I believe but I'm not 100% on this delete older backups. But as I said Im not sure. But it also helps to empty all trash from email accounts to free up space. Give it a shot
