Why can't Apple keep secrets anymore??? They did an amazing job a few years ago, but more recently it seems their products are leaked out and nothing is a surprise at the Keynotes except for some features in the iOS...

    Your thoughts?

All it takes is one worker to walk out with a bit here and bit there. How are they ever going to control that. *Especially when a website will probably pay the 5x there month wages for them to get the scoop.

    *me guessing

Why, why, why is secrecy, or the absence of it, so important??

    I don't get the whole issue...

If it where me and I ran Apple i'd build a couple of iPhones in house to be used at a Keynote to unveil the device and then start production then for a release a few months down the line.

Because somehow you feel a few leaks are worse than telling your competitors EXACTLY what you're going to release in a few months?

The best way to combat this sort of thing is with disinformation. If you feed out a lot of false rumors, no-one will know the truth and they'll pay less attention to rumors. Apple can also shake up their schedules.

But when you're 30 days shy of final production, I think secrecy becomes impossible when you have the scale and attention that Apple has.
