Why Wi-Fi ?

Why do you need wi-fi for the itunes store, but not for the apps store on a 3G
iphone?

because the phone networks (at&t etc) generally have their own music store, and would either require that to be used, or for apple to charge higher prices on the iphone over the phone network
the record companies also sometimes demand more money when music is sold on mobile phones over the network

obviously this does not apply to the app store

iPHONE 3G newbie

hahaha! i know, i can never get on iTunes thru my 3G. All the Wi-Fi connections in my area are always locked and require a password! ...it's a good option (able to do it at home, with my Mac's AppleShare on), just like 3G,...but i use Edge 99% of the time, and with the new 2.0.1 installed, my 3G runs even faster!! 😀
