I've only played with Vista at the local Micro center and it was ok. It looks pretty, but I don't find its functionality any better.

To be honest, for me, the coolest thing was the updated Solitaire and Minesweeper. The explosions are cool!

Heres list for the worst ideas from Microsoft. In Order.

1. Windows ME
2. Windows Vista
3. Windows 98 1st Edition
4. Windows 3.1
5. Windows 95
6. Windows 98 2nd Edition
7. Windows 2000
8. Windows XP
9. Zune
10. Windows Media Player

You've obviously put no thought into this list--let alone have any idea of Microsoft's product history.

I turned of the glass effects. It is now a nicer looking XP, which is what I would want if I was a windows user...its not worth buying, but I would rather (if I was going to buy a PC) buy a computer with Vista than XP.

My friends are such noobs!? This one guy bootred vista @ school and they were like, "Oh my **** It's frikking cool. Look how the glass makes stuff blurry"

And I told them, pssch OS X is just so much more...

They don't understand do they?? Eyecandy sells, but then again so does mass market hypnosis!

Obviously, you want something newer with the promise of better security.

What anti-virus software are you using? Have you had any problems with it? I'm interested in how the new security APIs are working.

I have to agree. Who wants to buy a new computer just for the OS. Microsoft has some good ideas, but it is obviously based on tiger. When leopard comes out there will be no comparason. I have two windows boxes and i think I may stay with xp, the only way i will get vista is if i put it on a mac, but that will probably not happen.

Not another Windows-bashing thread from a noob. Yes, we all know that Windows is not all that great but there are some good points to it like there are some bad points to Mac OSX. You didnt have to buy Vista but you did to move forward which meant that your cmputer had to too.

I will admit that when I wrote that thread, my PC with Vista kept locking up when I was loading Doom 3. So I was kind of going on a little rant. lol.
