Yea, the first time this happened the Genius kept it for repair, the second time I was blamed and then I was told they're repair it just this once cause they did it last time.

Do you think your spot appeared due to pressure or bruising?

Could be from pressure. I try and be really gentle with my computers and I rarely move it, but it was a couple years old and may have been due to my handling of it. I am not sure though.

I had some strange gray dots appearing on my MacBook’s LCD and I took it to a Genius Bar. The Genius agreed to take it because the headphone jack wasn’t working right and said that Apple probably wouldn’t fix the LCD but he would recommend they check it. Apple ended up replacing my logic board and LCD under warranty.

Maybe a different Apple Store would take it.

basically just registered to answer this question seeing as i have a definitive answer. i work with refurbished apple products for a living and the ceo's biggest pet peeve is stacking macbooks more then 3 high because of this very problem. it is without a doubt a weight/pressure problem. never stack anything on top of a macbook besides paper for good measure.

Ah well thanks for registering and responding. Seems im sol. Ill email apple nd sound disappointed. I don't like how incant treat a 2000 portable computer like a portable. Its stuck on a desk cause carrying it causes 'pressure'. Sounds like a design flaw too.
