Can I ask why so many people are against Chrome on the iPad and iPhone?

Is it just because Google mines more data, or something else?

I currently use Chrome on my Mac, iPad, and iPhone and it seems to work flawlessly. I’ve never had an issue. The only reason I was thinking to change to Safari is to use the built-in password manager. I really need to strengthen all my passwords and using a password manager seems to be best option to do it. And since I use Apple for everything, it seems like using Safari would be the best way to go about it.

I switched from Chrome to Safari because Safari has a Favorites bar. I switched from Chrome to Edge on my Win11 devices because Chrome is more of a resource hog than Edge.

Guess I'm going to have to break down and try Edge. Is it fairly easy to migrate from Chrome to Edge? I think I read that Edge takes all the same add-ons and extensions as Chrome.

And, yeah, I love having the Favorites Bar. Safari iPadOS and iOS are the best...

I don't recall any issues switching. It was straightforward importing bookmarks and other data. I still have Chrome on board but haven't given a thought to going back to it.

FYI all . . . . today’s IOS Firefox update (ver 108) has resolved the inability to close tabs using the iPad with a Magic Keyboard trackpad. Holy hallelujah . . . . it’s been a long time coming! And I’m finding the browser super fast along with great desktop syncing. Go to >settings >tabs then ‘turn off’ >inactive tabs. Finally time to add it to my stable . . . .
