Why won't my Ipod charge using an Apple wall charger?

Hello everyone,

I was hoping to get some input as I'm a new Ipod touch user and am experiencing some problems.

I bought a 3rd gen 32 GB Ipod touch about 1 month ago. I can charge it successfully when I hook it up to the PC. I recently purchased an original ipod wall charger AC adapter since I didn't always want to plug it in the computer. I use the USB cable that was included with the ipod

When I plug it in the wall, the charging icon displays but a few things happen

1) the touch screen becomes all wonky and I can't effectively swtich from one function to the other
2) Even if I leave it charging overnight, the battery meter does not fill or just barely
3) the charging icon flickers between "charging" and "full"

Has anyone ever had this problem. If so, what should I do to fix it?

If a restore doesn't fix it then take both the iPod and the charger to the Apple store.

Thanks for the advice. I tried doing that but the same problems come back. Yet, I have absolutely no difficulty charging it thru the PC...

Does anyone have suggestions about compatible 3rd party wall chargers? I'd rather try first this than go thru the hassle of going to the Apple store....

Try a different cable from the charger to the touch. If that doesn't make a difference then try a different charger. I suspect the cable has a short or something.

Change a new charger, or just stop using the current one.

I had the same problem, the problem solved after i bought a new charger.

If it's an actual Apple official charger then they'll probably replace it for you . . .
