Holy COW! Video Spec WORKED! It was so easy! You are a genius! Thank you so much!

But VideoSpec is only an analysing application, does that mean, you can play the video back via VideoSpec or via other software now? And out of curiosity and for future reference in this thread, can you post the report VideoSpec gave you?

Same problem with .wmv file on mac!

Its a recording in .wmv format. I tried to open it on safari web browser, but it won't open.
I installed Flip4Mac, tried to open with Quicktime player - won't work.

I installed Perain - still won't work.

I installed VideoSpec - still won't work.
It gives Warning - Display of this movie is not available.

Any help will be great!

Thanks

P.S.: I was able to open few .avi file with VideoSpec (which were not working with Quick Time Player), so yes you can play .avi files with VideoSpec.

Here is the log

Help!

Hey! I have a 2.93 Intel Core i7, 16gb iMac, Version 10.6.8.

A simple .avi will not play on my computer.

Perian did not work, and I cannot seem to find the correct codex!

I downloaded VideoSpec, and it plays perfectly. Here is the report:

I know this should be playing fine in quicktime, because my girlfriend bought the identical computer as me, and the file plays completely fine on her mac. I need this to work on quicktime, because I am using this file to edit in final cut, so merely playing this on VLC or another program does not help me... and it's crazy because it works completely fine on her Mac.

Someone please help!!!

Thank you!!!
