I got the i7 for a couple reasons, it is currently the fastest dual core processor on the market, it's only .4ghz faster but that's just on the surface. The clocks run higher in Turbo Boost, SC (single core process) is 3.4ghz vs 2.9ghz and DC (dual-core process)is 3.2ghz vs 2.6ghz also you get a 4mb L3 cache not 3mb. Also the clocks on the intel HD 3000 run 650-1300 instead of 650-1100. I've checked out a few benchmarks on notebook check and anandtech and they both show higher benchmarks. Whether this matters for your needs or not is to be seen, but there will be speed increases. I will be adding 8gb RAM and 128gb SSD to get the most out of mine.

OK I got your points...but what I want is to buy an MBP without having to buy another SSD and install it which I do not know how to do that...so I have 2 choices...keep the old tech or buy it with an SSD and spend a lot more $$$...I'll think about it.
