When you copy a track in Garageband and decide to paste said track into a new project, instead of creating a new copy of the track, Garageband simply sources the original track, so to say. So, for example, if you were to change the location of the original project, or delete the original track, the new project with the copy will no longer work. The track will "not be found".

This defies the definition of the word "copy", and also is HIGHLY STUPID. How can I make it so Garageband makes REAL copies?

I suspect maybe I have a bad hard drive, but the file will not be found sometimes for no reason when I do this, even if I don't change any locations or delete anything.

Really. Nobody has any explanation for this for an idea for how I could COPY THINGS NORMALLY in garageband?

a bit better description for a title would help to start.

as to your question, i've never really played around with garageband so i don't know.
