Hi,

Anyone tested if El Capitan supports 802.11r (Fast Roaming) and/or 802.11k (Assisted Roaming)? I've had some trouble trying to get a decent Wi-Fi environment running with those features missing …

Will start testing next week, but I'm curious if someone can share some findings.

Hi ortiz3m! Got around to do it just recently. Short version: looks like it's working!

Long version:
Tested with 10.11-beta (15A225f) on our Cisco Meraki setup (MR34 and MR32) with 7 access points. The office isn't that big, but due to lot of reinforced concrete and large glass walls I've had to put up a lot of APs to get coverage everywhere.

Preliminary testing (ie walking around the office with my laptop) shows that my 10.11 connects to the SSID with 802.11r without problems and switches between APs very fast (at least compared to how it used to be).

802.11k seems to be working also. With 10.11 I get Radius response times below 0.01 ms. Still have to do some more testing with 802.1x to be sure though.

Really?!?!

ove got 2 MR 34's at home.. will give it a shot.

confirmed after enabling 802.11r my Macs can connect... one on 10.11 beta 7 and one on 10.10.5 funnily enough.
10.10.5 also? That's great!

My testing with 802.1x, WPA2 Enterprise and Radius didn't turn out to well though. Still the same problems with unexpected disconnects. Seems like I'm stuck using WPA2 Personal … Really hoped that Apple would add better support for this.
