Hello All - I'm a long time android user who has just switched to ios in the last several weeks.

I'm encountering an issue where when I connect to a wifi connection wifi calling is not always activated on a consistent basis. Some times it gets activated and more often than not it doesnt.

I've tried to search the forums but have not really found feasible solutions to this problem. Wondering if anyone else has experienced a similar issue and if there is a more reliable solution out there other than toggling airplane mode every time?

    Thank you

What carrier do you use? If it's Verizon or AT&T, your Wi-Fi calling is probably working as intended.

I'm actually in Canada on the Rogers network. I read somewhere that wifi calling is only activated when cell signal is really low - is that what youre thinking? I've noticed that even when my signal indicator is only 1 ball the wifi calling still does not get activated.

If Rogers is "cellular preferred" for Wi-Fi calling, as are AT&T and Verizon in the US, then the phone will only switch to Wi-Fi calling when it deems cell signal unacceptable. If you're not having trouble making calls, then it's working as expected.

If the phone is not switching to Wi-Fi, and you are having trouble making calls, the problem could be your particular phone, or it could be with the carrier settings supplied by Rogers.

If you're having a calling problem, you might try a forum that is more oriented towards Rogers customers, to see if this is a well-known Rogers issue, or specific to you.

What type of role does the wifi signal play? If the wifi signal is low will wifi calling even be activated?
