Wi-fi Connection Problems

Hey. My wi-fi on my MacBook Pro will connect to full bars and then after about a minute of usage in a stationary desk will cut to two bars. This has only been happening since 10.5.4. It's really getting annoying. Anything I can do to fix it?

Might there be any sources of interference in the area? Microwaves and portable phones can be especially troublesome.
 
But the thing is that this has been going on since 10.5.4. And there isn't anything in the direct area between the computer and the router.
