Solution working for me

Hey, i found a solution on a french mac forum,
after upgrading to SL i got all my connection but impossible to acces the WEB,
the solution for me has been:
go to: HD / Library / Preferences / System configuration / HERE you cancel all files in the folder system configuration. Clean the trash bin, then reboot. Everything is working perfectly now. I hope it will help some of U.

"effacer le contenu des préférences système dans le répertoire HD/Bibliothèque/Preferences/SystemConfiguration (juste les fichiers, pas le répertoire, j'insiste), vider la corbeille puis rebooter."

thanks, that worked

I couldn't connect to the internet after upgrading to Snow Leopard, and I wasn't using wireless--just connecting directly to the modem.

Dood Capsule's suggestion about removing the System configuration files worked. I had already tried all kinds of other suggestions, but this one did the trick for me. Thanks----you saved me from missing some vital work hours this morning!

Tried the above method of removing files in the system configuration.....worked for about an hour or so and the same issues kept appearing.

SL appears connected to my network, However I cannot browse the internet or receive my mail, etc.

I've tried deleting the automatic setting etc....doesnt work.

Only thing that works is turning wifi off and back on again. This has started becoming more frequent over the past month.....very frustrating and annoying.

Re: Wi-fi/Internet not working in Snow Leopard

I just upgraded to Snow Leopard on my Macbook Air and the same happened - WiFi connects on L2 and DHCP works, but data does not go through, with most APs I have the habit of connecting (cafe's), while only one WiFi AP of those I use works. In Leopard things were working fine, DNS started to act up when upgrading to 10.5 and going to Snow Leopard basically made WiFi useless to me.

My solution was to move to cellular - tethering over bluetooth with Nokia Nuron works like charm (writing this over it) and as Nokia has unlimited data plan over T-Mobile for $10 per month, this was my way out (don't have the luxury of time tinkering some broken SystemConfig files or such).

Maybe "Steve" fixes this one of these years..
