I'm experiencing an issue on my 14 PM where I will leave home - Wi-Fi will naturally disconnect, however when I return home the Wi-Fi will not re-connect even though the Wi-Fi toggle is ON.

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this.. I have attempted a hard reboot of the device, as well as resetting network settings to no avail.

I’m getting that, but then when it does reconnect, it’s slowwww. Really slow. Speedtest is fine, but actually using Safari, or App Store, or anything that involves online data is a dog. 16.2, for me, has been the worst release in a long time.

Yeah this happens all the time for me as well. I've just gotten into the habit of manually connecting back to WiFi whenever I get back home.

For those having this issue, does it happen anywhere else you visit frequently that also has WiFi?

I have Ubiquity at home and Cisco at work and no issues disconnecting / reconnecting.

Few thoughts on this matter. What is your wifi security? Is your router up to date? Is your SSID hidden? Do you use the same SSIDs for 2.4 and 5 Ghz? I would recommend going to settings > wifi > edit and delete all stale wifi SSIDs that your phone still remembers but you don't need. You might be surprised how many of those linger over there. Also make sure that auto-join is on for the SSID you want to automatically connect.

Additionally, I would recommend reviewing the Apple's recommendation for routers.

My version of this issue (iPhone 13) is that if i temporarily disable wifi while at home from the control center icon - which i usually do when i'm in the back yard and wifi sucks - when i turn it back ON once back in the house it will never find the home wifi again unless i repeat that whole procedure one more time. This didn't happen at all on 16.1. Happens now on 16.2

Finally rebooted my router 3 times (!), and now the speed is ok. However, my 14P doesn’t reconnect when I get home. I have to manually connect each time.
Did you verify that the Auto Join option is enabled for your home Wi-Fi?

This has already happened to me. It even happened to me today. I left the house and when I returned it took a few minutes to reconnect, which is far from normal.
