So. If you're like me you most likely are having problems with wi-fi syncing with your devices. After countless hours trying to find solutions, Google searching, reading threads, trying every fix known to us at this time, dealing with forum trolls, a simple solution has been found.

I do not want to take credit for this solution by reposting all the information on this forums for some e-cred. The man that figured out the solution deserves all the credit in the world for resolving many frustrations. Follow his directions to a T. Do not think you can skip a step or use an application replacement. This is a safe and easy fix to this problem. The only thing you will need to download is CCleaner which is fast and easy to use. You will not lose any music or album art. Do not worry about uninstalling your iTunes.

Feel free to thank him. He deserves it. UP this thread and get it stickied to make searching easier for people to resolve this headache.

Didn't have the problem, so not an issue.

I DO have to say that being un-tethered from my computer, synching my iPhone and iPad with the iCloud was the best thing I could imagine.

To me, Steve J. created the best situation we could have: a gadget with phone, email, messaging, internet ... and so much more, without needing a computer.

    Thanks Steve

After following the fix instructions exactly as listed on that page, Wi-Fi Sync worked for about a minute and then it went back to not recognizing anything (iPad 2 & iPhone 4S). So fregging frustrating.

that really blows man. i just got back home from work and as soon as i opened itunes the option popped up. make sure youre logged into the same itunes on both your pc and your phone. see if that resolves your issue.

Wifi sync still doesnt work after this. Heck, i reinstalled Windows 7 completely and it didnt work. Its iTunes. We're just gonna have to wait until Apple fixes it.

Agreed iTunes 10.5 on a Windows machine is a buggy piece of crap. iTunes is generally stable and runs well on my machine but iTunes 10.5 has crashed several times, locks up for hours on end and slow. I reinstalled last night which improved things a lot but Wifi sync just randomly stops working.

Hopefully there will be a update soon to fix these issues.

I definitely did everything by the book and it literally worked for 5 minutes before iTunes took an S dive, crashed, and would no longer recognize my iPhone or iPad (and yes I restarted, rechecked the magic wi-fi sync box on iTunes, made sure that the same apple id account is used on all, etc). Ironically, home sharing works . Apple needs to fix this ASAP.

My iPhone also stopped syncing over wifi and all my music didnt play on my iPhone, but I just erased my music and sync'd it with the cable. I do not trust wireless syncing anymore.

Mike, I definitely used the ccleaner. I even uninstalled itunes 3 times and ran the cleaner every time and no cigar. I give up.

if iTunes crashed on you trem i would assume you have something going on other then just wi-fi sync problems. plug your iphone in and rclick it. choose reset warnings. uncheck "sync with wi-fi" from your summary. click sync. unplug the phone and completely power off the phone. power it back on. plug back in and checkmark sync over wi-fi. you dont have to sync this part. just unplug again. see if your sync works for you now.

the only thing that is fishy is the fact your iTunes crashed on you which means either a software miscommunication from the iphone or your software on your computer hard drive is not properly installing.

this could be two things :
    1) try a "restore" on your phone
    2) do a hard drive test through your bios of your computer and see if you have any hard drive issues

the reason i suggest #2 is because even if you install software fresh on your hard drive it must be a clean sector of the hard drive to install properly. you may be having a hard disk sector issue and itunes keeps installing to that sector.

thats pretty all i got though man but thats what i would do in your case.

I appreciate the feedback Mike. I did as suggested and still nothing. The trippy thing is that home sharing and everything else works. Ill have to wait for an official update from apple as they can't possibly expect everyone to unscrew this one on their own (uninstalling, running registry cleaners, etc). Thanks again!

It's buggy, simple as that. Uninstalling then reinstalling win just install the same bugs again, I just provides so e tempory reprieve. Apple will fix it soon enough.

It's glitched once on my iPad 1st generation. Worked fine ever since though.

I managed to fix mine by doing the following:

    I'm on Windows.

I went into Services and looked for the service called APPLE MOBILE DEVICE. I then right clicked on it and choose RESTART from the menu. Since doing this I've been able to wirelessly sync again on both the iPad and iPhone. Perhaps the APPLE MOBILE DEVICE had crashed or stopped working for some reason?

    Here's a screen shot:

It was definitely the cause for me (APPLE MOBILE DEVICE), because when I went back into Services again and manually stopped it, and then tried to wirelessly sync again, the problem was there again.

I then re-enabled it and wireless sync works again

Hope this info helps guys. :)

I found another cause of wi-fi sync problems. My iPhone just disappeared from iTunes randomly even after a reboot of my computer. I repaired my wireless internet connection which refreshes the cache stored between your computer and router. This brought my phone back into iTunes again. I suggest you try this as well trem.

No problem, glad it worked for you :)

I find that nearly every time I try to wireless sync, I need to do what I mentioned in my tip. Buggy yeah.

Chandrawib - worked perfectly!! Syncing wirelessly again. Sometimes the easiest, simplest solutions work the best (at least this one solved my issue). Thanks a million. Good luck everyone else, I know how frustrating this issue is as I've been reading and trying solutions for hours!
