I use Sony MDR-XD100 headphones, which I find to be just as comfortable and good sound as Sennheisers.

Im having a real hard time deciding here.. I concidered the sennheizer 280, but people write they are kind of tight fitting and i have somewhat vast cranium..

Anyone tried the sony mdr x400?

I've been a Senn user for number of years already. one pair is open ear the other one is closed, depending on my mood. very reliable and durable.

What I'd like to know is whether the Sennheiser models that have the rotatable part for "one-ear listening" are better for recording (?). The HD 280 Pro apparently has "swiveling earcups" but I don't know if that pertains to this issue or just flexibility re. comfort (whereas the following model is a little more clear in its description: http://www.sennheiserusa.com/newsite/productdetail.asp?transid=502188 ).
