Widget problems with Leopard

I am having trouble with dysfunctional/non-functioning Widgets after doing clean installs onto a MacBook (C2D).

the "manage widgets" function has screwed up graphics and is nonfunctional, the clock app is blank without a time, etc. calendar still works though.

Anyone hearing of Widget problems after installing Leopard? There may be another thread on this that issue I am not aware.
