Widgets...
it would be nice to have the option.
There are no downsides.. dont blind yourself like that

People are seriously misunderstanding the point of having a weather widget.

If I need the weather RIGHT NOW, I look out my window. Nothing has changed, human sight still prevails. However, if I need the weather for tomorrow, or for the next 3-5 days, I can't do that without having to log on to accuweather or whatever. Step in my weather widget which tells me high/lo temps + conditions for the next few days - helps me plan just a little bit better.

I'd love for iOS to get widgets. We all know Apple, they could be done really well. To me, this just seems like Jobs 'being Jobs' and refusing to back down. Even buying the LockscreenInfo team would be a start...

Getting ready for work in the morning. Upstairs and it's dark outside. Hmm, what's the weather going to be today? My wife would typically turn on the tv and hunt down the weather channel and wait for local info to roll around. I pull my iPhone out of my pocket with the weather widget on the lock screen and I got the current temperature, sunny or rainy and a brief look at the week ahead.

Beats poking your nose out the window.

I don't see your point... Are you agreeing or disagreeing with me that widgets are hugely useful?

Having the forecast on your iPhone's lockscreen requires a JB, my 'droid does it with a simple widget from the Market. Other than that, I don't get your post - you've just repeated what I've said, without the fact you've had to JB your phone to do it.

One thing I don't understand is why some people are so absolutely against widgets coming to iOS. If they come and you don't want them, just don't use them. It doesn't hurt you at all, and makes everyone else that wants them happy. It seems that some of you are just livid at the thought of widgets coming.

If/When Apple gets them, it will be the greatest thing since sliced bread. Thats just how this forum works. Hate what they dont have, love it when it gets here

I guess, but it's like they hate innovation just because they don't need it.

brb, not supporting cancer research because I don't have cancer so why do I need it?

I had to jail break my phone to get the widget on the lock screen and yes, I think it's hugely useful.

Bring on the widgets! If people don't want them, they don't have to use them, but I will.

The cons wouldn't exist if you can turn them off. Then, you have nothing to complain about.

You took my entire post out of context. I was responding to this post:

I wasn't referring to widgets. I was referring to the other badly implemented ideas from other manufactureres that Apple managed to get right. Granted, that's not everything that has ever made it into an OS - think multitasking.

I'm sorry if you didn't understand my post. I assumed it was quite clear.

yup he did the same thing with my comment, I'm not even going to respond to someone that decides what bits and pieces he wants to respond to/thinks will make his argument better :apple:

With your idiotic ADD comment, I doubt you are worth conversing with but there you go. Perhaps I am one destined for your ignore list?
