Wierd characters being inputed

Hi all,

I am working on a MacBook Air and the keyboard seems to be inputting random charaters. For example the 'g' inputs a copyright sign, 'v' inputs a tick etc. I plug in a USB keyboard and its fine. I have checked all the input settings etc and all appears ok.

Does anyone have any idea what may be happening please?

Copyright is Option G, so maybe your Option/Alt key is a little sticky or playing up?
