What bout both wired and WiFi @ the same time with wired set to priority? Reason I ask is because WiFi is need for Maps and having home location auto populate. More importantly with OS 10.10 coming out this fall, WiFi will be needed for Continuity and Handoff features. So my Q is; have both wired and WiFi enabled ok?

Works fine and that is how I run for the reasons you mentioned.

wired i have a 100/5 mb

wireless on imac 2013 i see 50-60 down which still is great but i notice torrents connecting or connecting to web isn't as snappy as a wired connection

Same here.

I have the option on my iMac to either use WiFi or the ethernet cable to connect. Is one or the other better?

And what about just having both going? As in, ethernet cable plugged in along with WiFi on and connected. What would this do? Does the iMac give one or the other priority? Would this be a "solution" to solve the issues with WiFi not connecting right away from wake (when that happens, I'll still be connected via ethernet until the WiFi kicks back in, so to speak)? Or would trying to use both actually slow down my internet (especially if my router is connected to other things, like my Air or my PS3)? In other words, would using both ways sort of "hog" the bandwidth?

Thanks in advance.

- Ethernet is safer
- wireless -everybody in the street or in the other apartments might find a way to come in -, you dont wanna spend your time at home CLOSE to the wifi router (it's like getting microwaved) - put a mobile close to a speaker, and feel the bim bum bam noise it does, now those signals are going thru all of your body parts, closer to the closest organ of your body close to the mobile (or in this case the wifi router)

the wireless comes at a price, there is no miracles. ;p
use wifi if u want, but know the cons.

I have the same download upload speed wired and wireless but not untill i went full wifi ac chips
