WiFi 6 and 5G Apple Watch

When do you think they could add WiFi 6 and 5G to the Apple Watch? (the latter cellular-only)

Would you pay more for those? Because they would obviously cost more. That's probably what it down to - what is the cost/benefit.

For that reason I would not expect it to be soon. I doubt the S8. Maybe the S9. I could be wrong of course.

I don’t see them include 5G anytime soon, if ever. Would cost more and drain the battery faster. The most Apple Watch needs to stream is music or podcast, they would not really benefit from the extra speed of 5G and even Wi-Fi 6

Wifi 6 is more efficient (power consumption) than Wifi 5.

"future proof" is not a reason for Apple, besides, 5G is a superset of 4G/LTE.

AFAIK the wifi module is part of the SOC, so when Apple redesigns that to be more power efficient, you'll see it ...

Wifi 6 on an Apple Watch is overkill, you can’t watch videos or anything 4k and the only web browsing is only done through the news app.
