does the battery charge not last as long when using wifi?

WiFi uses up the battery quicker - somebody will be along shortly but around 15-20% less battery time with the airport switched on rather than ethernet.

It depends more on screen brightness than WiFi; I know people who can use their MBs with WiFi on, but brightness to minimum and use it for 6 hours.

I can achieve a 6 hr battery easy doing that, and that's tested timr, not estimated.:)
