Hello,

I have 4 user accounts on an ibook. 1 Admin and 3 Standard/restricted users. All users do not have a problem connecting to the Interned via wifi. Myself as an admin go directly without any issues. BUT all the other users are suddenly asked by a pop-up entry to authenticate. The computer wants an admin name and password!

This request came suddenly it has worked without this nuisance for a long time. I am sure there is a setting somewhere to fix this but I have not found anything. This happens by the way only with wifi. If the other users connect via cable it goes directly.

As I am not an IT-expert I would need a non-technical answer.

Thanks in advance

wifi- authentication suddenly needed

Hello all,

I have figured it out - after weeks. It was just one small tick.

System Preferences >networks > under "Show" you select "Airport" > Options > and there deselect "change wireless network" beneath the heading "require admin password to:"
