I live in a very well isolated house in terms of heat resistance etc etc. All of the ceilings are made of concrete. So my phone signal struggles with this.

My carrier recently got the option to enable calling over wifi. Anyone have experience with wifi calling? Do you notice that it uses more phone power than it does without?

Yes, it consumes slightly more power when it is enabled. I saw this on both my iPhone 6s Plus, X and XS Max. I opted to end up disabling it as it was noticeable.

Yes it does consume slightly more battery power, but considering it could be the difference between making a good call and not, I ignore it. Besides, recently when my wife was out of the USA I could call her using WiFi calling and was not charged international rates. (My carrier is T-Mobile.)

WiFi calling uses less power than voice over lte. When WiFi calling is enabled I turn on airplane mode as the poster above said.
