so now on ATT your wifi calling is not on when your iphone is connected to wifi?

I cannot confirm whether or not wifi has priority over a cellular connection.

I recently switched over to t-mobile and my iphone seems to prioritize a wifi connection over a cellular connection.

yeah i been with t-mo for a few years now, and i wifi calling will connect whenever your on wifi regardless of signals or anything

Hey y’all, on ATT and having an issue enabling wi-fi calling while on airplane mode and wi-fi on. Anybody else?

The only way I have found to work around this is to turn on airplane mode. It will automatically connect to wifi calling and won't switch back and forth between that and cellular.

Wish AT&T would prioritize Wi-Fi calling over cellular. I have signal issues in my house too but cellular often overrides Wi-Fi for some reason and the call quality is horrendous. It got so bad that AT&T sent me a microcell, but the problem with that is that Wi-Fi calling and the microcell kind of conflict with each other. I had to disable Wi-Fi calling and that works fine at home, but I have to remember to enable it every time I leave the house and I never do.

I have started turning off cellular signal in CC when talking, which u can do in the midst of a call gone poor due to the wifi/cell switching back and forth. Unfortunately that disables visual voicemail so I have to remember to turn cellular back on.

I might try the airplane mode idea.

I’m not getting ATT wi-fi to show up when I swipe down from the top right though in airplane mode with wi-fi connected.

When cellular is enabled and wi-fi is connected occasionally it will automatically use ATT wi-fi but it will be shown when I swipe down from the top right corner.

What's the benefit of WiFi Calling?
You can make phone calls where the cellular signal is weak or even nonexistent, such as inside a building. You can also talk wherever there is wifi--for example, you can keep your phone in airplane mode while traveling out of the country and all calls to and from the home country work and are billed as local calls.

The wifi calling on my iPhone X works fine. It's a Sprint unlocked version, I use it with AT&T service. When airplane mode is on, the "AT&T Wifi" logo is not showing up but I still can make/receive calls and text messages, not sure if it's just a software glitch.

does anyone know if Verizon wifi calling prioritizes wifi calling over signal at home?

AT&T tells me wifi calling isn't available for iPhone X yet and that this is an Apple issue to be addressed through a future software release.

I am skeptical. Is wifi calling working for you on the X? (and you have AT&T)

Thanks
It’s working for me, though I will say that it sometimes takes longer to become active than my iPhone 7 did, so maybe there is some truth to the rep’s statement.

I’ve noticed that as well. The indicator is not on but if I make a call in airplane mode it usually still goes through.

I have iPhone X on Verizon in Manhattan and the very expensive Spectrum (Time Warner) internet package. My internet runs pretty well on all my devices, however... using Wi-Fi calling will result in dropped calls 100% of the time within 10 minutes.

Taking my iPhone to the Apple store to do a diagnosis.

Wi-Fi calling has worked for me on AT&T. I can confirm that in iOS 11.2 the AT&T Wi-Fi indicator works, as well.
