Does anyone know if I can use Wifi Calling on a cruise to call to someone on land without being charged extra per a second or per a minute from my cell provider ? As long as airplane mode is on and only Wifi enabled using the cruise internet package for a set one time fee.

I have it enabled on my 13 pro max and haven’t seen any disadvantages.
I’m not sure on your Cruise question, although I have not had good experiences with cruise ship WiFi.

Wifi calling is a great way to preserve batt. at home, esp. if you have a weak cellular reception… don’t forget to put cellular on airplane mode to maximize benefit. Not sure about cruise ships, but I doubt they can cherry pick wifi used for phone service (wifi-calling or skype etc). We use it traveling internationally (land) but keep in mind wifi-calling treats you as if you’re home eg, if in Paris making a local Paris restaurant reservation, using wifi-calling will be treated as a international call. Use Skype for that instead.

I leave it on all the time. It works great. About 5 years ago someone cut a fiber cable going to a cell tower in the area which knocked out cell service to everyone, but those of us on WiFi with WiFi calling enabled never skipped a beat.

I am on the AT&T Unlimited Elite plan if it matters.

Is it ok to keep on when overseas ? Will there be any extra extreme charges ?

What does all of this mean please ?

Also when I enter my address is it only for my phone or everyone's phone on a plan with 3 other people, 4 total ?
